I purchased this Petmate kennel for my two kitties. I got the medium size and it is good size. Much larger than needed, but I’m pleased. The kennel was easy to assemble. It’s great quality and very sturdy. I recommend Petmate kennel products.

Typical kennel. Easy to put together and hopefully will work well with our upcoming trip in the RV. My only complaint is with me…. make sure you put it together where you plan to keep it. I had a heck of a time fighting to get it in the camper without having to take it fully apart. I did it, but may have taken as much time as if I had of taken apart. By that point it was me being stubborn. Size wise, our pup is 43lbs and this is for 50lb starting weight. I think it may be a little tighter quarters then I would like for my dog if he was 60-70lbs. So for us, it is perfect size.

Better than the wire crates for our anxious dog.
We have a 14 lb mini-schnauzer rescue. He is high anxiety, and we have struggled with crate training him. We got the 28″, and it seems to be the perfect size for him. He doesn’t weigh much, but has a long, skinny body, and is tall and lanky for his weight. He is 22″ long and 17″ from floor to top of head when standing. It was clear that he instantly felt more comfortable with this crate, over the wire crate we first tried. I put a fluffy blanket inside, and he went in on his own and curled up! So happy. This is his new night time bed spot. It was easy to put together, has a handle, and doesn’t appear to have any sharp edges or seams inside. It also doesn’t have a strong plastic smell, which is fantastic.

TERRIBLE FOR AIR TRAVEL! This kennel cost me 2 missed flights and a rushed trip to a pet shop to buy a sturdier one for air travel. I wish I had read the one and two star reviews, especially since I was moving my dog across the ocean from Maui to the mainland. The first trip my dog escaped in cargo before take off by opening the door. I was removed from the flight to go get her, had to get rebooked for the next morning, had to depend on friends to pick me up at midnight and take me back to the airport at 530am only to have to go through it all again. The second time I zip tied the door closed, however my dog broke the latch mechanism (see red circle in the photo) and the airlines will not let a kennel that is damaged in any way onto a flight. She was removed from cargo before I even got to my gate. Take two of getting rebooked, getting another friend to pick us up, and getting other friends to take us back to the airport later that night. DO NOT BUY THIS KENNEL FOR AIR TRAVEL!!

We received broken peice and they don’t have return policy. Which is strange 😦. We have bought that for our pet to travel internationally but when we received it was broken and there was no option to change it.

I bought these before and they improved the screw nuts so it is easier to turn the nut on the screw. This has thinner plastic than the ones I bought years ago and the holes on the sides are larger and ovular. The screw nuts were an improvement and I like the overall design but the ones I bought before I felt were more durable with thicker plastic and thinner slits so my cats couldn’t stick their paws out.

I received this recently and have just come to assemble today. Mine is not the colour advertised but all cream[just dark clips]—but no great problem. It was ‘easyish’ to assemble. By that I mean I did have to push the clips together with a bit of ‘oomph’ but eventually all clipped into place. The fact that is was a little tight to clip is quite good as,hopefully, the clips will actually STAY clipped!!! It does seem sturdy enough but I have not bought the basket for any air-line travel only as a ‘stand-by’ basket for any vet trips to accommodate my 7kgs+ cat [or his smaller brother!!!] It does seem he will have quite a bit of room to stretch and be comfy. I cannot comment on the handles’ strength—- as I ‘ve stated its a ‘stand-by’. It appears good for my boys.
