Did the job and my dog actually loved wearing it.
We didn’t get this recovery suit for surgery, our Golden Retriever had a hotspot he wouldn’t stop licking, and we needed something to help while it healed. This thing worked perfectly. We’d apply the medicine, slip it on him, and it kept him from messing with the spot. What really surprised us was how much he actually liked wearing it. Every time we took it off, he’d try to get it back on, like he felt special or something strutting around the house in it. It was soft, the material was thin, comfortable, and was very durable with strong stitching. It fit well, stayed in place, and didn’t seem to bother him one bit. Honestly, it did everything we hoped it would, and then some. Way better than dealing with a cone, and the fact that he was so into it just made the whole situation easier (and kind of hilarious).

Cones no longer needed after Spay/Neuter
XS perfectly sized for 7.5# Habibi Bear puppy. This item is constructed with excellent quality fabric; it is superior quality. Easy to slip on and remove tail endof surgical suit for potty times. Washes well and I line dried to prevent shrinkage. My puppy has not chewed at the surgery site. The surgical suit was recommended by our veterinarian. We have not used the cone once! Another brilliant person designed this surgical suit that is durable, easy to put on and take off and is quite sassy in appearance as well as being a great value. My puppy is comfortable in the suit from my observations. Do not hesitate to purchase, but I do recommend purchasing 3 of these suits as back up in event of puppy accident.

Perfect, but size is inconsistent and shrinks
I’m giving this four stars because you should consider it but be aware of some facts first. It turned out perfect for my dog, allowing her to heal a large incision without having to wear a cone but generally the quality of this product is just weird. In brief, it could be absolutely perfect for your dog but if you can, it would be smart to order more than one in different sizes. If you know your dog is going to be having a surgery maybe buy it ahead of time to test it out.My female dog who had a splenectomy and would have had to wear a cone for over a week without this. Her incision runs in a straight line on her underside, from about her sternum to her pelvis. The onesie covers all of her body other than her legs and there is no way she’d be able to take it off herself. She seems perfectly comfortable though and doesn’t try to. It’s very easy to get on if she’s standing and pretty easy if she’s laying down and can’t get up. With some onesies you might have trouble with peeing and pooping but this is perfect because you can easily undo the velcro, pull the back end out through her legs and tail, then fold it forward on her back and fasten it again. It takes 5 seconds and frees up her rear end so there’s no mess. You could also easily put it over a diaper. The problems are that the size is all over the place. I have one that is very snug, one that’s quite loose and one in the middle. Another is a good fit on the top half of her body but the lower part that covers her butt is very loose. If I were trying to cover her butt or hips and she was trying to get at it to lick, that particular one would be useless because she could get her snout in the openings. But the other 3 I bought would totally work for that. There is kind of a loop thing on the top of her back where supposedly you should be able to have the velcro ends underneath but it is impossible because the opening is nowhere near wide enough to fit the strap in. Like by an entire inch. It’s not necessary though because the velcro is very strong. I don’t think it would add anything for me to be able to hide the ends under that. Every one of these I’ve purchased has a different size opening too, which is extra weird. I get the feeling that whoever is making these is just cutting the fabric freehand without a pattern because they are so insanely irregular. One more thing about the size is that I went with an XL because it’s what I could get delivered overnight and figured I’d try just in case so she didn’t have to wear a cone, but I never would have thought she’d be an XL but a L would not at all be big enough. Still, I wouldn’t say specifically to size up though because the size is so unpredictable from one to the next.Other problems are that it shrinks a bit when you wash it which is a problem if you got one that is already snug. None of mine shrank so badly we couldn’t use it though. Dry on low heat because the velcro gets stiff and curls if you dry it on high heat. The fabric is thin so don’t think this is going to keep a skinny dog warm but I was happy to have something covering my girl’s shaved belly because it is winter right now.If you need a onesie or want to try it out to avoid having to use a cone, I do recommend trying it if you want a solution to avoid the cone. But, if you can order multiple sizes and return what doesn’t work for you I would recommend that. If you can order more than one even of the same size it might work out because the irregularity could make one fit well but not another of the same size. Also, if you can order other brands to compare it would be a good idea. Check out what the return policy is first.I would never normally recommend something of this poor quality, but for me it was really worth it because my dog’s incision is big and otherwise easy for her to scratch and lick and with how hard it is for her to walk right now a cone would be terrible and she’d be falling down all the time if she tried. She has been through a lot lately so I’m glad we had these.

    Cleverly designed suit
My lab is 75 pounds and 6 years old, she recently had surgery to remove a suspicious lump on her abdomen. She usually hates any doggie apparel like raincoats and winter coats but has taken very well to this suit and is wearing it 24/7 with no complaints. I gave my vet this suit so I can drive her home in it post surgery, there’s no way she would have tolerated a cone. The suit is made of cotton and I love the clever design. I watched the video on how to fold the bottom of the suit so my dog can do her business, but I have not been able to execute it as well because my dog gives me little to no heads up when she has to go potty cause she’s heavily medicated. I am still able to do a basic roll and the Velcro is strong and high quality, so I’m able to stick the roll to the Velcro even though my fold isn’t perfect. The prints are fun, I bought the citrus and strawberry prints and it makes looking at your dog a little easier because otherwise, I’d be miserable looking at her as she’s obviously tired, dazed and overwhelmed post surgery. I think the snug wrap is also comforting for her and provides her some warmth. My lab is definitely on the mend and this suit has played a big part in her recovery. I bought the XXL for her and it fits well. I tried another brand Suitical, and even the largest size didn’t fit my lab well, it was too snug around her neck. I would recommend having 2 suits so you can wash one while having a spare. Overall, very pleased with this brand and design.

    Good product but need improvements
I really liked this pijama for my puppy that just got neuter. I won’t give 5 stars just because I don’t see how it makes since that the whole genitals area are all covered. My husband and I work during the day so he would be alone at home, and when I got home, he pooped and peed in the close, which could give him an infection. We ended personalizing the clothes and we made a bigger hole for the bit and one for the pee so our puppy could go potty when we were not around. I am from Brazil and we have personalized clothes like that, I was surprised that I could not find any like that here. The pijama was cute and we gonna keep it so he can wear on winter time

The best recovery suite out of three different ones I tried on my dog. Fits perfectly. Accurate web description.High quality finishes – a section of elastic along hind legs flap limiting dog’s access to sutures.Nice fabric, large section of the belly flap lined with soft cotton.I am super happy with this onesie.

Love this for our Girl. She was so much more comfortable using the suit rather than the cone. It fits very well, nice and soft, and no chance of getting to her incision. Highly recommend for maximum comfort when you know they’re feeling yuck post surgery.

I got a size L for my 15kg female Staffordshire Bull Terrier & it fits like a glove. The velcro is super strong so she can’t get out of it. Its also really breathable. She can’t get to her wound; no matter how hard she tries. Its great when we take her outside to wee, as it just rolls up so she can go. Its also been helping with her allergies and losing hair. I highly recommend, plus, its super cute.
