Perfect for post surgery
Dog loves it. Nice and stretchy and simple to snap out of way for potty breaks. Not tight or touching his incision after splenectomy and helps keep clean and protected from licking. Highly recommend. Buying a 2nd one so I can have a fresh one. It’d be great to reduce hair in car too!

A must have for your pet for spay!
I love this product! I’m so glad I purchased this for my pet prior to her spay. She is a mini Goldendoodle, 26 pounds, and the medium was a perfect fit! This product is wonderful. It is easy to put it on, no Velcro—just button snaps that are easy! I just wish they had more variety in colors and that there was a stretchy hole (like the brand Vet Med Wear) for your pet to go pee. But overall this product is durable and perfect!

We read all of the reviews. The most helpful reviewer suggested ordering two different varieties. She found the snaps on this one were much easier to work with than the other designs that use velcro closures. These snaps are pretty great. Size-wise, we sized up a little because his splenectomy incision is long and we didn’t want anything to irritate it. He’s a miniature poodle mix, 14.5 pounds, 11.5 inch neck, 17.5 inch chest, 17 inches from his neck to his tail, so we ordered the regular medium knowing it would be a little big. Good thing we went up in size because the neck opening is tight BUT has stretch so I used a cylinder to stretch out the neck which worked perfectly. The font leg holes are wide and helped with quickly getting it on and off. It was a little long but we only needed to cover his middle abdomen and used the dark metal snap meant to uncover their butts for bathroom breaks the whole time he wore the suit so it was never used as a onesie. He is supervised and hasn’t tried to lick his abdominal stitches through the suit. Not even at night when we sleep. This cotton material is soft and breathable – super preferable for wound healing and it is machine wash and dry. That is convenient! Some of the other brands were polyester and line dry only. We’re glad we got this. No need for a cone. Protects his incision. It’s comfy, versatile, and convenient. Highly recommend trying this one.

Edit: still great purchase but it’s day 7 and we’ve noticed it’s a tad short for him and it’s starting to irritate his scrotum area so we give him breaks from it and he seems happier. He does seem to lick his incision site but mainly because his scrotum is bothered I think. Keep this in mind for fit!Best fitting post surgical suit we could find for our male dogs body shape. He’s very long and lanky, not much fat on him, so sizing can be tricky. We got an XL and my only thought is that the neck is a bit snug but I’ve stretched it out and it’s starting to stretch with time. Using for post neuter surgery and it’s more comfortable for pup than the donut and cone, but he can still lick the fabric until it gets wet if we aren’t watching so if that’s the case we do pair with the donut. Our donut has a zippered cone attachment we can add if we need extra prevention but most of the time the ruff life suit is good enough as long as we’re keeping an eye on him from licking his incision. Overall, liked this much better than some of the others we tried mainly due to fit and that it covers the whole wound. When he needs to go pee or poop we just unbutton the pieces in the back and roll it up until he’s done, then we resnap it into place afterwards. Have washed it once and dried on medium heat, no noticeable shrinkage. Nice tshirt cotton material that’s breaths. Not too tight so pup is comfy but incision still has protection. Worth the price, works as described
It is a great item- easy to get on and off maybe just a little small at the neck. It is a little thick, but that may be good for the dog getting to the wound. It fit my 7.2 pound Shih Tzu perfectly.

Perfection!!
I researched long and hard to find a surgical suit for my GSD pup. This surgical suit is well made and is exactly what my pup needed! He just had a big abdominal surgery yesterday, a complex castration and a gastropexy. This is super soft and the fit is perfect for my 85 lb puppy. We bought the XXL. Neck is just a little tight, but we still highly recommend this. It can be tightened by moving up a row of snaps. Suggestion: (Three rows would be even better)This also provides a calming affect like a thundershirt does, but not as snug as those.The snaps are solid, and is easily rolled up for potty breaks. It has a center snap that snaps up at the chest area when suit is rolledor folded up toward the neck. Happy to say that the suit stayed dry, and that is a plus when you have a male dog!I think they should make one or two sizes bigger for other giant breeds in addition to the current sizes.

Good functional
Overall I think the functionality of this product is great! Would recommend this to other pet owners. However, the sizing and fit need improvement. Have a 75 pound Labrador. Bought an XL for our dog and it was functional but too big, so purchased the L and it was too small. The collar on the L was very tight but fit well in the body. Made some modifications and it worked better .

I purchased two of these Belly Guards. What a great idea! I have two dogs so the cone would not have provided the protection my girl’s incision needed from the other dog. I looked at several and ultimately decided on this one because it did not have a “strap” that would apply pressure on her sutures (which were actually staples). It is allowing her to heal without undue pressure on an already tender area. She is thin so the garment is loose around her spay incision. It is very easy to pull up the back when she goes out for potty breaks and allows her comfort while eating and sleeping. Love this item and have recommended it to others.

This was perfect for after surgery, although it was quite baggy around the body, it was suitable for tumble drying after a wee wee accident.Easy to use, pop over his head, under the body, over the tail and then pop the poppers on. Protected the stitches well.Thick material, could tell it was going to last the 2 weeks.Very stretchy and well worth the money.
