Quality and good design.
I really like these storage bins. My only criticism is that the lid on my large (60#) container is fussy. It doesnt spin easily and I have to line it up carefully. I am going to draw some arrows to help me align the lid to the threaded base. Maybe wiping a thin film of WD40 will help too but I havent tried that yet. The other Vittle Vaults (just 3 different sizes) do not have the problem with the lids. As to function, I am super pleased. I am using this for oiler sunflower seeds (I buy 50# bags) and the capacity is perfect. I needed to keep out pests, and so far so good! The top seals with a gasket, which is a great feature. I love the lightweight design and the stackability of these bins. This is the kind of quality food storage container that I was looking for. One of the nicest design features is the rounded corners. Not only does it prevent food from sticking inside sharp corners, but BONUS! Little chewers like mice cannot get a purchase on the container to chew through! yay! I have seen photos of vermin gaining access by chewing the lids, but so far I have not had that problem. Yeah maybe they are a little pricey, but cheaper ones that I have purchased in the past dont compare to the quality of the design.

Gets the job done!
I first bought a pair of these about 15 years ago. At the time we had both dogs and cats and I was tired of cleaning ants out of the pantry, including the pet food. They seal tight and no more ants! Even when fighting (ich) mice or rats, they were not in the pet food. I do know someone who tried to keep these in an environment where raccoons could get to them, and those big critters did some damage.The 40 lb. vault barely held our 40 lb. bags of kibble. We were using a kibble that was at least 1/3″ diameter (1 cm). To fully load the vault it had to be turned the tall way and the kibble tapped down. If you want to easily load 40 lbs. and you have the space, consider getting the 60 lb. size. My pantry was narrow and I wanted to save space.Another note about the fully loaded 40 lb. vault: If you stack it on top of another one the opening may get squeezed and a little hard to operate. But, still, no ants! I didn’t care.Now after a few years without pets I bought a new one to gear up for a new dog. I did look around a bit for a good plastic free option and did not find anything I liked. I came back to another Gamma Vitals Vault.FYI, the company makes their lids in “food grade plastic” I you can put on food grade buckets for people foods. Even with the growing concern about plastic I am still using those for bulk quantities of foods I rinse like brown rice and dry beans. And still, no ants, or worse yet mice!

So Far, So Good
So far, I’m very impressed. It holds 40lbs of kibble, as advertised. Stanley’s kibble isn’t large, it’s on the smaller side (Diamond Naturals), so there was a bit of room to spare. I like how compact the container is, it fits nicely in the laundry room and isn’t a trip hazard or a shin catcher. I haven’t had it long enough to comment on how fresh it keeps the food, but I have very good feelings about it. It appears to seal well. I haven’t had any issues with the lid, but I regularly deal with bear canisters and anything is easy in comparison to getting those lids off. The initial cleaning upon arrival was easy, I threw it in the shower to wash it and used the hand shower for rinsing (no hose outside). Put it out in the sun to dry it out (PacNW dweller). Filling it was a bit of a trip with the angled opening, but nothing unmanageable. I wound up scooping the food out of the bag until it wasn’t so unwieldy to pour. Thus far, I’d recommend it to a friend. Will update about the freshness once we’ve gone thru a bit more kibble.

Ideal food storage for small homes!
First I should state: every dog food holder WILL only hold x amount depending on how big your kibble is and how it’s shaped. don’t be mad if you don’t fit exactly 40 gallons or so of kibble in these if your kibble is of certain sizes, weights, or shape! that’s to be expected.This fit my Purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach in here pretty well! I’d say only about 3 or so LBS was left over in the bag (40 lbs bag, triangular shapes) and I put that in my other vittles vault I use to keep treats/food in the bag where I can. Ideally you want to keep a dog food bag in these, but if you can’t fit the bag make sure to clean the containers after every use or every other use and dry.To me I’ve found them durable, they’ve got great capacity depending on your storage needs and what shape you get, and the food is always nice and fresh. Added a stainless steel scoop in it for extra cleanliness. To me this is worth investing in several to keep food, food bags, and treat bags in to keep bugs or humidity out depending on where you live. This will also be helpful in separating foods for my dogs in the future (my current dog has chicken sensitives, and this way I can keep her food from being contaminated!)

I love this for my dogs food! It easily fits large bags of food and completely conceals the smell. The lid is easy to remove and the contain fits perfectly in my pantry.

Withstands squirrels and bears!!
I use this vault for birdseed. On occasion, I have left my garage door open overnight and a squirrel tried to get through it and failed. Another night a bear went into my garage and took it into the woods. The only way he got in it was to unscrew the lid, probably took him a while because there were teeth marks in it! The squirrel did more damage to it than the bear. I have to remember to close the garage door at night!

I love products that are sturdy, well built and function well… this is one of them! It holds a GIANT bag of dog food plus more, keeps it really fresh, and the best thing is that it stacks away in the pantry and you can put other storage ON TOP of it because the top is flat. The lid is easy to use and works well. Thumbs up!

Chouette rangement pour les croquettes mais deux défauts:- le joints ne tiens pas il faut le coller avec de la super glue (4 points de colle et ça bouge plus)- le plastique manque de rigidité, trop fin, trop souple. Si l’on range les caisses l’une sur l’autre (ce qui est le but chez moi), celle du dessous ne ferme plus correctement à cause de sa déformation

Es útil y si conserva las croquetas de mi perro Antiguo Pastor Inglés, caben muy bien los 18 kilos del bulto y todavía queda espacio. Lo malo es que se anuncia con Taza medidora y NUNCA LLEGÓ LA TAZA, además que tardó casi 10 días (vendedor local) y hasta que insistí en varias llamadas porque el proveedor mintió. Nunca volveré a comprar con ese proveedor externo, desafortunadamente no me fijé en que tenía varias opiniones negativas por falta de envío i pidelo. RECOMENDACIÓN: si el proveedor NO ES AMAZON primero verifica sus calificaciones. No quise regresarlo porque el precio aumentó pero comprando la TAZA QUE NO ENVIARON ya casi sale igual que si lo comprara con alguien serio.
